Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Amarillo Sandies, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks on Saturday.
Chris Martinez jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Red Oak, rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 185 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Martinez jr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Red Oak also got a significant boost from Lorenzo Holman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Amarillo's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Red Oak, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Amarillo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Red Oak will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Aledo at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Aledo: 15.2, Red Oak: 17.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
