The Granger Lancers will face off against the Park City Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Granger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.

Granger is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Stansbury last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lancers were outmatched by the Stallions and fell 76-47. The Lancers were down 62-35 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zephaniah Willford, who posted eight points. Braslau Fotso Simo also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Park City was able to grind out a solid win over Spanish Fork on Tuesday, taking the game 71-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Miners.

Park City's win came from a few key players Granger will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Luke Rice, who shot 75% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bridger Lapine, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points and seven assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Granger and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Park City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Granger has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Park City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Granger couldn't quite get it done against Park City in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 72-63. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
