The Futures Knights will challenge the Sacramento Waldorf Waves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sacramento Waldorf will be up against a hot Futures team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Futures breezed by Forest Lake Christian to the tune of 61-33 on Friday.
Futures found their leader in freshman Anthoni Moore, who went 6 of 15 en route to 25 points. EJ George was another key player, putting up four points along with 11 boards and four blocks.
Futures smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sacramento Waldorf waltzed into their matchup on Friday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They took their game with ease, bagging a 51-20 win over the Patriots. The Waves pushed the score to 38-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots had little chance of recovering from.
Sacramento Waldorf's win came from a few key players Futures will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Palmer Anthony, who posted 12 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Malachi Miranda, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.
Sacramento Waldorf pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.6 points. As for Futures, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Futures has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 40.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Sacramento Waldorf struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Futures came up short against Sacramento Waldorf in their previous meeting back in January, falling 67-58. Will Futures have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
