The LaSalle Royal Lions are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-24, which was the final score in LaSalle's tilt against Schoolhouse Prep on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points LaSalle has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Rachael Restrepo and
Melissa Carrasco, who each put up seven points. Restrepo held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Don Soffer Aventura took a serious blow against Mater Academy Charter on Monday, falling 52-10.
Brenda Klucznik put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored six points.
LaSalle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Don Soffer Aventura, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Wednesday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy match: LaSalle have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 35 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Don Soffer Aventura, though, as they've been averaging only 18.8 rebounds per game. Given LaSalle's sizeable advantage in that area, Don Soffer Aventura will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for LaSalle against Don Soffer Aventura in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 43-10 victory. Does LaSalle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Don Soffer Aventura turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
