The James Monroe Yellow Jackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 42-35 to Culpeper County. James Monroe was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Culpeper County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Culpeper County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Johnson, who threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Caleb Green did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown.
James Monroe's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Culpeper County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.
James Monroe will be playing at home against Caroline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caroline is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Culpeper County, they will head out on the road to face off against Spotsylvania at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
