It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Maywood CES Wolfpack can now relate to. They suffered a rough 65-45 defeat at the hands of the Owls on Wednesday. The game was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Maywood CES couldn't quite close it out.
Leading WISH Academy to victory were Noah Tureaud and Keith Hartman. Tureaud scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Hartman scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Hartman posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Caizaiah Williams, who scored six points along with three steals.
Maywood CES has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season. As for WISH Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Maywood CES does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for WISH Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. WISH Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Wilson likes a good challenge.
