The St. Paul Lutheran Saints will head out to take on the Lexington Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lexington took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Paul Lutheran, who comes in off a win.
St. Paul Lutheran came out on top against Lutheran on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Saints were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Knights. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Walker Bodenstab was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, St. Paul Lutheran got a massive performance out of Micah Truwe, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Truwe a new career-high. Jaydon Battista was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Lexington lost 8-1 to Carrollton on Tuesday. The Minutemen haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Miguel Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
St. Paul Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 6-19.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Paul Lutheran has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lexington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Paul Lutheran skirted past Lexington 5-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
