After a string of five wins, the Wellington Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Jupiter by a score of 46-44. Wellington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Despite the loss, Wellington still got an impressive performance from Madison Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Gabby D'arcangelo was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.
Wellington's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for Jupiter, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellington will square off against the Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jupiter's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Palm Beach Lakes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Florida (the Rams are ranked 139th, while the Warriors are ranked 338th).
