The Roseville Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Antelope and snuck past 68-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Roseville found their leader in underclassman Oreste Yong, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brandon Newton, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Antelope lost, one person who can't be blamed is Daunte Martin. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of SirMister Harriel, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Roseville's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Antelope, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.
Roseville will take on Woodcreek at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodcreek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Roseville in California (Woodcreek is ranked 105th, while Roseville is ranked 320th). As for Antelope, they will head out on the road to take on Inderkum at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Averaging 69.3 so far this season, Inderkum's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Antelope better be ready for a challenge.
