The Hillcrest Christian Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Porter's Chapel Academy with a sharp 60-38 victory on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for Hillcrest Christian as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jaivyn Carter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Severe McNeary, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Hillcrest Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Porter's Chapel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Hillcrest Christian will head out on the road to face off against River Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. River Oaks will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 249th in Louisiana, while Hillcrest Christian is ranked 93rd in Mississippi). As for Porter's Chapel Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Prairie View Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Prairie View Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
