Laura Heinz, a senior middle blocker from Clinton High School in Clinton, Mich., has been named the MaxPreps/AVCA Michigan High School volleyball Player of the Week. Heinz picked up the honor after helping her Redskins to a 24-4 record to date, including victories in seven of their last nine outings.
Through four games last week, the 6-foot-1 power in the middle smacked 16 kills. The senior leader's defensive skills also helped shut down opponents as she recorded six blocks in the same span. Heinz also tallied three digs, one service ace and one assist.
Clinton is coached by Patty Vandeventer.
