Baseball Recap: Sacopee Valley Beats Waynflete for Their Third Straight Win

Sacopee Valley got themselves on the board against Waynflete on Wednesday, but Waynflete never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Flyers with a sharp 12-0 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Keegan Thibodeau made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Silas Nielsen, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Sacopee Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Donovan Harvey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Sacopee Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Sacopee Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. The Flyers will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Rangers will have lost six straight heading into Thursday's game.
