The Pell City Panthers will face off against the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pell City's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Hewitt-Trussville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Pell City took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Sardis a 3-0 shutout. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Pell City got a great performance from Savannah McGaha as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts McGaha has posted since back in February.
On the hitting side, Reese Tarver was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games.
Meanwhile, Hewitt-Trussville was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Oak Mountain.
Oak Mountain's batters probably weren't too happy with Kinley Poe, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Poe.
At the plate, Hewitt-Trussville got a big performance out of Presley Hull, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Hull is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Goguts, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Hewitt-Trussville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Mountain only posted a batting average of .045.
Hewitt-Trussville now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Pell City, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Pell City might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Hewitt-Trussville in their previous meeting on Friday. Can Pell City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
