The Severance Silver Knights had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.2 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over Northridge. Given Severance's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Northridge is ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Severance's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden Hoffman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Blake Varney was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Louis Pisano, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Pisano hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Lyons, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Severance has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Northridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Severance will be playing at home against Thompson Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Severance is coming into the matchup with seven straight wins at home, so Thompson Valley is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Northridge, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th.
