The Southern Alamance Patriots posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Chapel Hill and snuck past 38-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southern Alamance.
Southern Alamance got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Brouillard out in front who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Isley, who scored ten points along with two steals.
East Chapel Hill's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abigail Stone, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Leah Finkelstein who scored 11 points. Stone has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
East Chapel Hill struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Southern Alamance racked up 13 assists.
Southern Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for East Chapel Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Southern Alamance will look to defend their home court on Monday against Western Guilford at 5:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Marissa Mitchell and Isley. As for East Chapel Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
