Farmington hasn't had much luck against Rio Rancho recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Scorpions are taking a road trip to face off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Farmington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Farmington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Piedra Vista, who was ranked tenth at the time (Farmington was ranked 19th). The Scorpions came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 17-11. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aaliyah Archuleta was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Desiree Quiver was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Rio Rancho got the win against Cleveland on Tuesday by a conclusive 20-13. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Rio Rancho has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Farmington, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1.

Farmington couldn't quite get it done against Rio Rancho when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 8-3. Can the Scorpions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
