The Little Elm Lobos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braswell Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Little Elm will be strutting in after a victory while Braswell will be coming in after a defeat.
Little Elm can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 38-28 win over Boyd. The victory was just what Little Elm needed coming off of a 38-17 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Braswell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 38-21 to Prosper. While losing is never fun, Braswell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Prosper is ranked 11th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Moses Adelowo, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Adelowo was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Shipp, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Little Elm's victory bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Braswell, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Little Elm barely slipped by Braswell in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 29-28. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Braswell's Michael G newell jr, who rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Little Elm to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
