The Superior Wildcats entered their tilt with the Smith Center Redmen with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Superior enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Smith Center on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given Superior's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 85th in Nebraska, while Smith Center is ranked 34th in Kansas).
Superior found their leader in underclassman Reagan Meyers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Meyers continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sadie Cornell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Superior is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Smith Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-3.
Superior will head out on the road to square off against Sandy Creek on Thursday. As for Smith Center, they will be playing at home against Norton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
