Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Brock Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 38-31 to the Tigers on Thursday. Brock's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Brock still got an impressive performance from Brett Tutter, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Tutter was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
It was another big night for Mike Jones, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 96 yards and a touchdown for Malakoff.
Brock's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Malakoff, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.
Brock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Malakoff will face off against Franklin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Franklin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games.
