The Le Grand Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Mariposa County Grizzlies with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Le Grand blew past Mariposa County 49-20 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
Alexis Granados was his usual excellent self, rushing for 222 yards while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Le Grand also got help from Reyes Diaz who showed off his sure hands for 93 receiving yards.
Mariposa County's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Taxtyn Weiland and Laten Butler. Weiland rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, while Butler rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Weiland's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Le Grand's win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points per game. As for Mariposa County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Le Grand will be playing in front of their home fans against Waterford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mariposa County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
