The Liberty Union Lions were the 46-43 winner over the Licking Valley Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Liberty Union took a 61-47 bruising from Licking Valley on Wednesday. Liberty Union has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Liberty Union lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Shawver, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Liberty Union's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Licking Valley, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Liberty Union will take on Logan Elm at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Licking Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Watkins Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
