If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Riverdale. On Friday they take on Ida Baker at 7:30 PM. Riverdale are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Ida Baker are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.
Last Monday, Riverdale put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered East Lee County 72-0. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 57-0.
Meanwhile, Ida Baker took a serious blow against Charlotte, falling 6-44. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Riverdale's victory lifted them to 4-0 while Ida Baker's loss dropped them down to 1-3. In their victory, Riverdale relied heavily on junior Da'reous Bell, who rushed for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ida Baker will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
