Softball Recap: Ennis Has No Trouble Against Three Forks

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Florence-Carlton, Ennis was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Three Forks Wolves with a sharp 13-6 victory. That looming 13-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Adi Wood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ruby Boggus, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayzli Ostler, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Ennis now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Three Forks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ennis will challenge rival Anaconda at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Three Forks is set to square off against their familiar foe Powell County at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
