It was a good run, but the Silverdale Academy Seahawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their 17-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 62-50 to Bradley Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Silverdale Academy has scored all season.
Silverdale Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Judah Richardson, who scored 18 points. Richardson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Okpara, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Silverdale Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-1. As for Bradley Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy will square off against Collegedale Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Collegedale Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22. Bradley Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Howard Tech at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Howard Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 254th, while Bradley Central is ranked 91st).
