The Anacostia Indians and the Coolidge Colts squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Anacostia Indians had to settle for second. Anacostia fell 14-6 to Coolidge. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Anacostia in their matchups with Coolidge: they've now lost seven in a row.
Jeremiah Wright threw for 170 yards on 14 of 21 attempts. Exavier Odom was his top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, RI?Chard Wheeler rushed for 89 yards.
Coolidge was led to victory by Ronnell Wheeler and Malachi Williams. Wheeler rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown, while Williams rushed for 106 yards on only 11 carries. Jacieon ?Way? Robertson and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Coolidge's victory.
Anacostia's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Coolidge, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Anacostia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Coolidge will square off against Maret at TBD on November 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Maret is ranked fifth, while Coolidge is ranked sixth).
