It was a good run, but the Bennington Badgers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 69-42 loss at the hands of Elkhorn North. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bennington in their matchups with Elkhorn North: they've now lost six in a row.
Bennington's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Presley Baca, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Reinoehl, who scored 12 points.
Bennington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Elkhorn North, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Bennington will head out on the road to face off against Gross Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Gross Catholic is ranked 58th, while Bennington is ranked 40th). As for Elkhorn North, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Bellevue West. Hopefully Bellevue West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
