It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Loris had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They snuck past the North Charleston Cougars with a 60-54 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Khalid Sherman went supernova for Loris, to rack up 14 points and seven assists. What's more, Sherman also posted an 86% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jacobien Lewis was another key player, on his way to 11 points.
Sherman wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Loris was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Charleston only nine assists.
Despite the loss, North Charleston still got an impressive performance from Marco Simpson, who posted 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Simpson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Hazel III, who had eight points and nine rebounds.
Loris' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for North Charleston, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.
Looking ahead, Loris will square off against Fox Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fox Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season. North Charleston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
