Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Wylie Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 49-14 defeat at the hands of the Eagles on Friday. Wylie's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Argyle found their leader in underclassman Maguire Gasperson, who threw for 316 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Krzysiak, who picked up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Argyle's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Hudson Emeterio was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Wylie's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Argyle, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Wylie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Argyle will square off against Colleyville Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Colleyville Heritage is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
