The Manhattan Christian Eagles were the 58-48 winner over the Jefferson Panthers when they last played one another back in February of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Manhattan Christian was the victim of a rough 63-37 defeat at the hands of Jefferson on Friday. While losing is never fun, Manhattan Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Jefferson is ranked 11th).
MacKenzie Layng was her usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with five assists and five steals for Jefferson. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Layng has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Stevens, who scored nine points along with eight assists and seven steals.
Manhattan Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Jefferson, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Manhattan Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jefferson also has no future games currently scheduled.
