The Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Montoursville Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Mount Carmel is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Lewisburg on Monday. With that victory, the RED TORNADOES brought their scoring average up to 9 runs per game.
Mount Carmel got a massive performance out of Gabe Yuskoski, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Yuskoski has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jason Klokis, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.
Mount Carmel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewisburg struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Montoursville made easy work of Midd-West on Monday and carried off a 10-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Brayden McCourt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McCourt was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Reeder, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Royce Bowes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
The victory got Mount Carmel back to even at 2-2. As for Montoursville, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
