The Magdalena Steers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tularosa 48-21 on the road. The result was nothing new for Magdalena, who have now won four contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Magdalena's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jema Ganadonegro led the charge by scoring 13 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ganadonegro has scored at least 25% of Magdalena's points. Another player making a difference was Aliza Apache, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Magdalena's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Tularosa, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Magdalena and Tohatchi will face off at 10:45 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Tohatchi is ranked 20th, while Magdalena is ranked 19th). Tularosa won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tatum at 2:15 p.m. on December 16th. Tatum is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
