Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sodus). They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the East Rochester Bombers on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Parker Orbaker made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Evan Laird was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Nate Aubin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Sodus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sodus' win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for East Rochester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-3.
Coincidentally, Sodus and East Rochester will both be playing Williamson the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Marauders at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Bombers will head out to face them at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
