The Apple Springs Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Martinsville Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Apple Springs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Centerville on the road to the tune of 76-42. The victory was nothing new for Apple Springs as they're now sitting on three straight.
Apple Springs relied on the efforts of Dakota Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Caden Diaz, who scored 28 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Diaz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeth Dugat, who scored six points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Martinsville can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 78-42 win over Kennard. The score was close at the half, but Martinsville pulled away in the second half with 51 points.
Apple Springs pushed their record up to 10-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Martinsville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
Apple Springs was dealt a bruising 106-36 loss at the hands of Martinsville when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Apple Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
