The Louisa County Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell 58-46 to Orange County. While losing is never fun, Louisa County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Fighting Hornets are ranked 133rd).
Louisa County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Yeatts, who scored 21 points, and Peyton Brady who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brady has scored all season.
It was another big night for Chloe Hebert, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 20 rebounds for Orange County. Hebert continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiyah Hackley, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Louisa County's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Orange County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Louisa County will square off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orange County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
