For Westminster Christian's part, Liam Nash and Zach Gurley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Nash struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Gurley struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Westminster Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alden-Hebron only posted a batting average of .053.
Alden-Hebron's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Westminster Christian, their record now sits at 8-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal.
