Leesville Road is 10-0 against Sanderson since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Leesville Road Pride will square off against the Sanderson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Leesville Road has three straight victories, Sanderson has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Leesville Road is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 74-42 win over Cardinal Gibbons. The Pride have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Molly Zuburg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 of 10 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Finley Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Leesville Road was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cardinal Gibbons only racked up two assists.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-17, which was the final score in Sanderson's tilt against Broughton on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while the Capitals are ranked 214th).
Leesville Road will have to keep a close watch on Stella Puckett and Devon Whitluck, a pair of players who had a big impact on Sanderson's prior game. Puckett posted seven points and four steals, while Whitluck scored six points. Hannah Sayre was another key player, putting up two points and five boards.
Sanderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Leesville Road, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Everything came up roses for Leesville Road against Sanderson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-36 win. In that contest, Leesville Road amassed a halftime lead of 38-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
