The Cannon County Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Marion County 42-7. While losing is never fun, Cannon County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Marion County is ranked 67th).
Despite the loss, Cannon County still got an impressive performance from Tucker Kyne, who picked up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Marion County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Leonard led the charge by rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of EJ Wilson, who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.
Cannon County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Marion County, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Cannon County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marion County will be playing in front of their home fans against Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
