The Legacy Lightning will face off against the Grandview Wolves at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
Legacy had taken Fossil Ridge down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end  on Saturday. Legacy fell just short of Fossil Ridge by a score of  12-10. That's two games in a row now that the Lightning have lost by  exactly two  runs.
  Owen Pagenkopp and  Dominic Simmons did some serious damage despite the final result:  Pagenkopp  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4, while  Simmons  scored two  runs while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kellen Reiser, who  went 2-for-5 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Grandview entered their tilt with Fort Collins on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by  a  12-2 margin over the Lambkins. Considering the Wolves have won three matches by more than nine  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
Grandview got a  massive  performance out of  Kyler Vaughn, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run and three  runs. Those  three  runs gave  Vaughn a new career-high.  Chase Chapman was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Grandview was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Collins only posted a  batting average of  .280.
 This is the second loss in a row for Legacy and  nudges their season record down to 1-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the  defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Grandview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
 Legacy skirted past Grandview  5-4 in their previous meeting  back in May of 2022. Will Legacy repeat their success,  or does  Grandview has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
