This season hasn't been kind to the Rockwood Rockets, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 76-32 loss at the hands of North Star. Rockwood was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-12.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Adams, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Ritenour, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Rockwood struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as North Star pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Andy Retassie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Star, scoring 18 points along with eight assists and six steals. Retassie continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Weimer, who scored 17 points.
Rockwood's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for North Star, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Rockwood will head out on the road to square off against Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Star won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ligonier Valley at 7:15 p.m. on January 12th. Ligonier Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 615th, while North Star is ranked 226th).
