Fair Play is 0-10 against Macks Creek since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Fair Play Hornets are on the road again and plays the Macks Creek Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Fair Play scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Monday. They claimed a resounding 55-24 win over Everton on the road. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Meanwhile, Macks Creek put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hermitage 86-15 at home. The win was familiar territory for Macks Creek who now have five in a row.
Brooklyn Duggan and India Willis were among the main playmakers for Macks Creek as the former scored 17 points along with seven steals and six assists and the latter scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Willis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Seaholm, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Fair Play's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16. As for Macks Creek, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
Fair Play took a serious blow against Macks Creek in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 66-17. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Willis, who almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. Now that Fair Play knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
