Softball Recap: Canton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Canton can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Millville Quakers with a sharp 17-2 win. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Canton got a massive performance out of Nevaeh Vroman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Vroman has posted since back in May of 2024. Addi Pepper was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Canton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Canton's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Millville, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will square off against Sayre at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redskins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.86 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Millville, they will challenge Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
