It was a good run, but the Odyssey Charter School Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Bayside 51-18. Odyssey Charter School has struggled against Bayside recently, as their game on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Odyssey Charter School saw an underclassman step up: Natalia DeJesus-Bruno scored six points along with five steals. DeJesus-Bruno hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Talyssa Hilaire was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bayside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donia Moaoui, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moaoui has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Angelina Spence, who scored ten points along with five steals and two blocks.
Odyssey Charter School's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Bayside, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Odyssey Charter School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Melbourne Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Melbourne Central Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bayside, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Thursday.
