On Thursday, Uintah strolled past Gunnison Valley with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. That's two games straight that Uintah has won by exactly 17 points.
Uintah can attribute much of their success to Dauson Gardiner, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gardiner has scored at least 25% of Uintah's points. Another player making a difference was JJ Jenson, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Gunnison Valley still got an impressive performance from Tyson Tucker, who scored 17 points. Tucker scored a full 47.2% of Gunnison Valley's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of jet hill, who scored 8 points.
Uintah now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gunnison Valley, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-1.
Uintah will face off against Ben Lomond at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ben Lomond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. Gunnison Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Union at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Union is ranked 65th, while Gunnison Valley is ranked 84th).
