After a string of four wins, the Classical Magnet Gladiators's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Weaver, falling 88-58. Classical Magnet has struggled against Weaver recently, as their game on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Madden Cupe was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with three steals for Weaver. The matchup was Cupe's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaheim Wilson, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Classical Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Weaver, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Classical Magnet will take on University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (University is ranked 95th, while Classical Magnet is ranked 83rd). As for Weaver, they will head out on the road to face off against Capital Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Capital Prep is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
