After a string of three wins, the Sandia Prep Sundevils's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Del Norte.
Sandia Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Maddy Weisler and Madlyn Dopson. Weisler scored 13 points, while Dopson scored 10 points. Dopson scored a full 27.8% of Sandia Prep's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Among those leading the charge was Bleona Agushi, who scored 16 points along with 5 steals.
Sandia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Del Norte, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Sandia Prep is on the road again on Wednesday and play against St. Pius X at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th. As for Del Norte, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Manzano at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
