Renton hasn't had much luck against Lindbergh recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Redhawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Renton has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Renton fell victim to Cedarcrest and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Red Wolves, falling 20-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Redhawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Lindbergh came out on top against Foster on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run first inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Orlando Dumlao made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Dumlao was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Lindbergh got a massive performance out of Aaron Melendres-Rodriguez, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Melendres-Rodriguez has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colton Nowak, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lindbergh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
The victory made it two in a row for Lindbergh and bumps their season record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Renton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Renton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Lindbergh struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Renton came out on top in a nail-biter against Lindbergh when the teams last played last Wednesday, sneaking past 10-8. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
