The Omaha Northwest Huskies will look to defend their home court against the Omaha Westside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with 17 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Omaha Northwest turned things around against Bryan on Monday. They ended the year with a bang, routing the Bears 82-62. The Huskies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Omaha Northwest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DeAnthony Wallace, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Wallace a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Dubose, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points along with five assists and five boards.
Omaha Northwest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Omaha Westside faced Papillion-LaVista South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Omaha Westside was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Papillion-LaVista South. The loss put an end to the Warriors' undefeated start to the season.
Despite the loss, Omaha Westside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lee Robinson went 7 of 12 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Robinson. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Odvody, who posted five points and 12 rebounds.
Having lost for the first time this season, Omaha Westside fell to 9-1. As for Omaha Northwest, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Omaha Northwest has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Omaha Westside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Omaha Northwest took a serious blow against Omaha Westside in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 87-44. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Omaha Northwest was down 52-24.
