The Lamar County Trojans will be playing at home against the Upson-Lee Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Lamar County really took it to LaGrange for the full four quarters, racking up a 88-38 win at home. With Lamar County ahead 57-25 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shakiria Foster, who scored 23 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Foster has scored at least 25% of Lamar County's points. Zakiria Foster was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 9 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Upson-Lee fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Heritage on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Patriots. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lamar County now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Upson-Lee, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Lamar County took their victory against Upson-Lee in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 63-42. Will Lamar County repeat their success, or does Upson-Lee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
