The Chapel Hill Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chapel Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Chapel Hill came out on top against Hillside on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Alexandra (Kes) Duncan made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Abby Klemm was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jillian Evans was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Chapel Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Wesleyan Christian Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against High Point Christian Academy, falling 15-0. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.
Wesleyan Christian Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Chapel Hill, their record now sits at 7-11.
Wesleyan Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chapel Hill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Wesleyan Christian Academy, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Chapel Hill's hitters?
Chapel Hill might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Wesleyan Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
