TUCSON, Ariz. -
Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, Ariz.) snapped the 11-game winning streak of
Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.), with a 46-20 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Kaelin Deboskie in the second quarter, the Lancers led 38--6 at the half.
Salpointe Catholic grew its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. SC scored three times in the third, including once on a kick return touchdown by
Cameron Denson.
With the win the Tucson school extended its winning streak to 14 games. Salpointe Catholic defeated Deer Valley 55-7 last week.
The Firebirds came in giving up 16.6 points per game this season. Chaparral had a hard time against Salpointe Catholic's offense, who entered the game scoring 50.1 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 27-20 win for Salpointe Catholic.
The loss comes after Chaparral defeated Mesquite 35-20 last week.
